Its odd name literally means 'soap-softener' in the Bornholmsk dialect — it started as a small warming dram handed to exhausted dockworkers in Nexø as they hauled boats up soap-greased slipways.
Sevablødda is a spiced cherry dram with warm notes of cinnamon and clove alongside a rich cherry base, bottled at around 40% ABV. It's typically drunk neat as a fortifying shot, though it also shows up in cocktails at Bornholm's small local distilleries.
