It's the only sandwich that's inspired its own chart-topping novelty single on Irish radio.

A bread roll stuffed with a full fried breakfast — sausages, bacon rashers, a fried egg and brown or red sauce — sold hot from garage forecourts, delis and corner shops across Ireland from early morning.

Why it's made this way: It grew out of Ireland's petrol-station and deli-counter culture as a way to get a proper cooked breakfast into commuters' and site workers' hands fast during the 2000s building boom.
